La entrega de los Emmy 2016 se dio oficialmente el día de ayer y este fue un gran año para Game of Thrones, quienes se llevaron por segundo año consecutivo el galardón por la mejor serie de Drama. En las categorías de actuación no tuvieron tanta suerte ya que Peter Dinklage perdió contra Ben Mendelsohn de Bloodline y Lena Headey, Maisie Williams y Emilia Clarke también perdieron contra Maggie Smith, por Downton Abbey.

Aún así, HBO debe estar realmente feliz del desempeño de su serie y por lograr el récord a la serie escrita que más Emmy ha ganado en la historia. HBO también tuvo grandes noticias en las categorías de comida ya que Veep ganó por segundo año consecutivo. Last Week Tonight con John Oliver también se llevó a casa el premio por el programa de variedades.
